One of the evening after dinner activities is called night walks. Study groups work with their KEEC leader in a trust activity around campus.
Student reflection:
Wednesday night groups went out for night walks. On the night walk, we put on blind folds and held onto a rope where our group leader would lead us around. It was so fun and I laughed so hard. The goal from this was to use other senses that weren’t sight. After our group finished the walk we ended up at an unused cabin. We went inside and used our sense of smell, and touch. By putting our blind folds on and the group leader gave us things to touch. After we had felt all the objects we had to guess what they were. Then we finished and walked outside with our blind folds on. Until we saw a fox family and a beautiful sunset. We finished our walk and headed to the dining hall. After all the groups had arrived we had a small meeting about the next day. Which was Thursday choice day. We then headed back to cabins and went to sleep. -RP
Harri had us crawl on all fours pretending like there was a tree there but there wasn’t and she also made us smell the seasoning to see if we knew what they were. Then she had us touch a rock and then she took it away from us and gave us a different rock to see if it was the original rock she had given us, she had tested our hearing to see if we knew what it was and the cards sounded like rubber stretching!!! -EL
One day with our study group we did something called night walks. We were blindfolded and led by a rope to a weird building. When we were in the building, we had to use our other senses to figure out what things were. First we used our sense of sound to figure out what things were. Then we used our sense of touch followed by the sense of smell. We had to smell crayons and guess what color they were. After that we learned why pirates wear patches. This was a very good experience and I wish I could relive it. -DB
