Reunion

As fun as KEEC was, kids were excited to come home, and parents and siblings were just as excited to get some hugs (and goofyness)!

Table Friends

After a week of eating all your meals with the same four or five kids the dining table groups were in a friendly mood when they posed for these pictures Friday morning after breakfast.

Clean Up

Thanks to the second half (of the week) dishwashers and sweepers!  If only you had a giant sprayer and industrial dishwasher at home....

Home Sweet Home!

Well, we were all reluctant to leave the beauty of Lake Dunmore and the magic of Keewaydin. Yet, head south we must.

Autographs and hugs were shared by all. The special moments will live on forever.

A few choice appropriate bus moments are attached, I (FK) could easily have been one of the snoozers. The peaceful glow of KEEC!

Thanks to all the wonderful kids for doing so many amazing things. Go KEEC!

Best,

FK

Last Night Campfire

sunset backdrop to our campfire
Tonight we had our last dinner, then the traditional closing campfire, where study groups perform skits about the ecological science they have been learning this week, and the staff at KEEC provide added entertainment that helps tie the night together.  Much video (over an hour!) was taken of every performance, which will be shared at a later date.  What do all you blog readers think about one final fundraiser this year after watching the pay off from afar of your hard work and contributions raising money all year?  How about a compilation DVD with extended high-quality videos, slide shows movies of photos, and other not-seen-on-the-blog video material?  This was done two years ago, but with much less video taken of the KEEC experience.  We could make the production part happen if there was a market....

X-Stream Video

Here is a very short video of the x-stream hike Thursday AM.  There is much more excellent footage that will have to be edited back home given time constraints here.  Special thanks to Sierra K for stepping in to videotape the second waterfall climb on the post below so I could take a turn climbing with the kids! Parents do not worry, no one was hurt in the filming of this video, or on the entire stream hike.

Quiet time w/snakes

Napkin Cans

The art of napkin can stacking and table Zamboni-ing have been highly tuned this week.  Be sure to put these skills to good use, or entertainment!
