KEEC Phone Number and Address

Dear Parents/Guardians,
On May 24th, all of the 5/6 students from CAES will travel to Keewaydin to attend a week of environmental education camp. Please remember to review the supplies list so that your child is prepared for the week. As they say at camp, there is no such thing as bad weather, just bad gear! Be sure to pack rain gear and a warm jacket!
All students should be at school around 7:45 on Monday with their gear labeled and put in the hallway OUTSIDE of their classroom. Be sure that all of your child’s gear has a last name on it! (All blue sleeping bags look the same unless you have written your child’s name on the bag!) We have masking tape here which you may use for labeling or better yet, use duck tape and label all belongings at home. If it is raining we will have the busses pull up as close to school as possible, but obviously, things will still get wet.
Make sure your child has eaten breakfast before we leave. There will be no food, drinks or gum etc. on the busses going to Keewaydin, so make sure your child has some food in his/her tummy! The kids will have their first meal at Keewaydin at lunchtime on Monday, Again, no food, candy, gum or electronic devices allowed on the bus or at camp.
Probably one of the coolest things in the world of camping is receiving MAIL FROM HOME AND RELATIVES! Hint: If you send out mail on the weekend before we leave, your child will have a letter waiting there on Monday...! So, here is the address:

EMERGENCY PHONE CONTACT: We are sharing the KEEC number with all parents in the event you have a true emergency and need to contact camp. Please know that this particular number has an answering machine and often a call will not go through to the director until he listens to calls. I am sure that you will find one of us at camp by calling this number. If your child has an emergency while at camp, we have three phone numbers that you have given to us and we will certainly contact you immediately. Thanks!
