Canoeing was a popular choice for campers, with one group going out in the morning and a second group after lunch. Unfortunately the wind picked up around 2:30, creating waves that could capsize a boat, as it did when we tried in the shallows along the shore. This group switched to some fun field games instead of trying to empty a canoe of water, which proved to be a challenge for the boys in the boat that went over in two feet of water.
Good try for the group that attempted to canoe with those winds! It looked pretty wild out there!
ReplyDeleteOne of my experience’s at keewaydin was never go canoeing on a windy day. So on choice day I wanted to go canoeing in the afternoon. So we went to the lake and I got all excited . Then the guy named RJ said to get out of the canoe. So that day I and a bunch of other people could not go canoeing. It was so disappointing.
ReplyDeleteThe water cycle is where water from the ground or a lake evaporates into the sky. Then when the clouds get to heavy, it rains. When the water lands on the hill and runs down the hill, that’s called a run off. The run off leads into a hole (or a soon to become a lake or pond.) or a lake. And that’s how the water cycle works.
ReplyDeleteMount Moosalamoo is a place where I learned about land use. We use it for hiking but it’s also a habitat for animals. There is also four cabins there. It is also used for logging for firewood. There are cleared areas for telephone and electric wires. In the past it was used for making charcoal, grazing sheep and cattle and for building homes.
